On May 1, members of the sophomore, junior and senior student class councils for the 2024-2025 school year were elected by their respective classes during collaboration. Candidates ran for a variety of positions, including class president, vice president, secretary-treasurer, spirit director, activities director, historian and athletics director.
On the morning after the elections, the winners of each class were read aloud during the morning announcements. The class council for the rising sophomores will be Sammy Kakala as president, Cadence Goblirsch as vice president, Caitlyn McCabe for secretary-treasurer, Grace Enfield for spirit director, Emily Weisman for activities director, Mikayla Cary for historian and Chelsea Johnson for athletics director.
As for the rising juniors, next year’s student council will consist of Tali Cuneo as president, Nelly Hickson as vice president, Keira Kennon as secretary-treasurer, Olivia McGlynn as spirit director, Amelia Breckenridge as activities director, Finley Wilke-Hiland as historian and Maisie Street as athletics director.
Finally, the student council members of the upcoming senior class are Allison Lui as president, Tila Chin as vice president, Adrienne Maass for secretary-treasurer, Virginia Fitzgerald as spirit director, Emma Slocum as historian and Sally Khoury for athletics director.
Once the incoming freshmen class joins the community in the fall, they will vote for their student council.
The newly elected class councils will have multiple responsibilities, like planning class bonding activities, taking photos during spirit weeks and strengthening the camaraderie between their classmates. They will assume their positions in the fall and are excited for another event-filled year ahead.
