On April 11, NDB hosted a college signing event dedicated to celebrating the accomplishments of six senior athletes. These students all made the commitment to continue playing their sport at the collegiate level, marking a significant milestone in their athletic careers.
Malaina Alifano committed to the University of Northern Colorado to play softball. The Bear’s softball team is a part of the Division I Sky Conference, playing teams from prestigious universities across the country.
Olivia Caron is set to play lacrosse at Allegheny College. Located in Meadville, Pennsylvania, Allegheny’s women’s lacrosse team plays in the North Coast Athletic Conference.
Another athlete, Katie Johnson, signed to play softball at the College of San Mateo (CSM) for the next two years. The softball team at CSM is a part of the Coast Conference.
Milan Pineda committed to Menlo College’s soccer program, a program that competes in NCAA Division II.
“My favorite memory is when we went to Arizona and had to take the van all the way down there. We were all exhausted and tired, and nobody wanted to play. But, we won five games in four days, and it was the most satisfying experience to go through all of that and still win,” said Pineda when recalling NDB soccer.
Cailin Thompson committed to Chapman University, a Division III school, to run for their track and field team after beginning the sport in fifth grade.
“… Coach Cook and also Coach Ron, both pushed me to become a better athlete and also helped me realize how much I really enjoy track,” said Thompson.
Lastly, Megan Worry signed with Macalester College, a university in Saint Paul, Minnesota, to continue running on both their cross country and track and field teams, playing in NCAA Division III.
The community wished the best to these athletes as they prepare to enter college, committed to their respective sports.
