On Sunday, March 17, NDB’s Admissions Department and student leaders hosted Admitted Students Day for admitted students and their parents. The invitees had just been accepted to join NDB’s Class of 2028 on Friday and were given the opportunity to interact with current students and staffulty.
Admitted students experienced a lively atmosphere in the small gym where the Associated Student Body (ASB) held a mock rally. They gave an overview of the many spirit events at NDB and invited students to participate in a round of musical chairs. Following this, Ambassador Board Co-President Kaylee Ellerhorst and ASB Communications Director Helena Morell were called to the front to introduce ways that students can use their leadership skills on campus.
“There are so many ways to get involved at NDB. You can join a club, a sports team, student council or a board,” said Ellerhorst. “By joining these, you are able to make new friends and grow as both a student and person. NDB allows and urges you to try new things as you never know what you make.”
Following Ellerhorst and Morell, student representatives from other activities were introduced and gave speeches on finding their smaller community within the high school.
Activities included athletics, Hallmarks in Action board, journalism, TigerBots and various other clubs. The day’s festivities closed with a lunch provided by the Epicurean Group, a Mister Softee truck, drinks hosted by the
Dads Club and a themed backdrop for those admitted students who committed to enrolling as a member of NDB’s 101st class.
