As the air turns colder and leaves begin to change, many fashion lovers anticipate the arrival of fall. Fall is known for its rich colors, cozy outfits and creative layering.
Fall clothing trends usually incorporate color palettes that include neutral and earthy tones, but recently there has been a new pop of color added. Deep red accents are now statement colors in fall outfits. Between boots, jackets, sweaters and purses, red is reemerging and taking the fashion world by storm.
Many people choose to layer their outfits during fall, both as a way to stay warm and elevate the outfit’s look. Draping a leather jacket over a sweater or crewneck is a great way to add some dimension to an outfit.
As the seasons transition from summer to fall, many trade out their shorts for jeans or pants and t-shirts for cozy sweaters. This begs the question, where are the best places to shop for fall staples?
“Hollister and American Eagle is where I get my jeans and tops. I get more sweaters and earthy tones like brown and sage green, versus in summer I reach for pastels.” said senior Jena Kawar.
Many view the character Rory Gilmore from the show “Gilmore Girls” as a fall icon, contributing to fall trends. Gilmore Girls is a popular fall show and Rory’s outfits were always matching the energy of fall, causing many to watch it during the colder seasons. Rory could be seen wearing corduroy pants and accenting her outfits with red in the episodes, contributing to many trends today.
Skirts are also a very popular fall bottom to wear. You can pair skirts with black tights underneath to help keep warm when it is a little chilly outside. A skirt with tights, and a sweater is a cute fall look. Maxi skirts have also been coming into style this year, a maxi skirt with your sweaters would make the perfect look. It is easy to put together but it still looks elegant.
Accessories always pull an outfit together, accessorize with jewelry, beanies, bags and the outfit is solid. Rock your outfits this fall season!
