TC: What is your (initial) reaction to the masking guidelines?
LC: I was very excited about the new masking guidelines.
TC: Why do you choose to wear a mask or not wear a mask?
LC: I choose to not wear a mask. I choose to not wear a mask because I don’t want to and I feel that because a large majority of people in the state of California have been vaccinated that the risk is very low for me and my family to get sick.
TC: What do you think of people who think differently from you: Those that are or are not wearing a mask?
LC: No problem. I feel that everybody is entitled to their point of view. And if people want to wear masks, great, they’re more than welcome to wear them and there’s no judgment.
TC: Do you think dropping masks in school was the best decision for the state to make?
LC: Of course, especially because young people are our least vulnerable population. So quite frankly, it saddens me that they were one of the last groups of people where the mask mandate was being dropped. But I’m glad that it is finally being dropped.
TC: Do you think there should be an online option for community members that are not comfortable with these masking guidelines?
LC: Of course, you have to meet people where they’re at.
TC: What do you think the current mask guidelines will trigger in the future, if anything?
LC: I think we’re at the end of it/ And I’m really glad that finally people are able to do things that they want to do and live like they want without having the mask mandate in place
