The Catalyst (TC): What was your initial reaction when the mask mandate was lifted?

Mary Hadinger (MH): I think it is up to everyone’s choice. I, however, am going to wait and see because the second variant of omicron is starting to take hold in the United States. And so I am conservative and will continue to wear my mask. 

TC: What do you think of people who have different opinions from you about masks?

MH: It is up to everyone’s choice and they can respond however they’d like. But like I said, I will still be masking until I know the long-term health effects of this variant. 

TC:  Do you think there should be an online option for community members who aren’t comfortable with not wearing masks?

MH: Yes I think that people should be given the option until COVID is no longer a threat.
