The Catalyst (TC): What is your (initial) reaction to the masking guidelines?

Georgia Blaney (GB): Honestly I thought it was way too early for masks to be optional especially in large settings.

TC: Why do you choose to wear a mask or not wear a mask?

GB: I choose to wear a mask just because I want to protect myself and the people around me.

TC: What do you think of people who think differently from you: Those that are or are not wearing a mask?

GB:  I mean it is a personal choice and as long as they are staying safe and being responsible I think it is fine.

TC: Do you think dropping masks in school was the best decision for the state to make?

GB: In large settings I don’t think it is a very smart idea but I do think if everyone is being responsible it can be managed in smaller settings. 

TC: Do you think there should be an online option for community members that are not comfortable with these masking guidelines?

GB: I do think there should be an online option for people who might be worried because it is keeping them safe.

TC: Do you think the mask optional policy will lead to good or bad consequences?

GB: I think it will lead to bad consequences because Covid isn’t over and even if one person without a mask gets covid, they could pass it to so many people.
