The pumpkin spice latte from the well-known coffee chain, Starbucks, is interesting. This latte is a mix of pumpkin and different flavors going in your mouth. It is enjoyed by many people in the cold seasons. But to me, this latte is overrated. People say that it has a lot of good flavors inside, however I disagree. When I tasted the infamous latte, I just didn’t get what the big deal was.

The pumpkin spice latte tastes like a mix of fall and winter. This popular drink can remind someone of fall and the leaves falling off of trees, or it is a reminder of the chills and coldness of winter.

Winter is chilling and cold and therefore one craves a toasty and comforting drink. The pumpkin spice latte is warm, and makes one feel content with the first sip. One can feel the warmth go up their body and the overpowering smell of pumpkin is prominent as soon as one holds the Starbucks cup in their hands. It’s like a winter wonderland of taste.

Mia Muzzi, a sophomore at NDB, enjoys getting pumpkin spice lattes in the fall.

“I really like pumpkin spice lattes because it’s fun to go to Starbucks with my friends after school and bond over them,” said Muzzi.

When I tried the latte, the pumpkin flavoring was too overpowering and it didn’t taste like real pumpkins, just artificial. I understand how some would enjoy it, however I could not include myself in this fall tradition, because the taste is simply not enjoyable.
