The Catalyst (TC): Why do you think quarantine changed your music taste?
Bella Topalian (BT): Because quarantine left me with a lot of time to do nothing, which led me to go on the internet a lot because that was one of the only things I could do without it being a Covid risk. So then a lot of music that I had already listened to – I started exploring it and started watching a lot of interviews on Youtube, and that’s how I found an artist, Mac DeMarco. I started watching a ton of youtube interviews and concert videos and once I watched these interviews I was like, “Oh my god, this person’s personality is so funny, like, I want to listen to their music.” So then I started listening to their music and was like, “Oh my gosh, it’s, like, actually really good.” And then my music variety expanded.
