Harry Styles new music video and song ‘Treat People with Kindness’

On January 1, 2021, Harry Styles released his new song “Treat People with Kindness” followed by a music video featuring Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Brothers Ben Turner and Gabe Turner directed the video along with Styles “Golden” video a few months ago.

The video already has 17,730,687 views and 1.7 million likes. The music video is in black and white, although Styles and Waller-Bridge wear matching colorful, sparkly suits and ruby red painted nails. It is set in a classy club where Styles performs as Waller-Bridge watches him from the audience. Styles, dancing and jumping around, is joined by Waller-Bridge in the end.

“I thought the music video was really cool and I like the song because it has a catchy toon,” says NDB senior Mary Hunsaker. “I also really like Harry styles because he is a good singer and I’ve liked him since One Direction.”

The song overall is very upbeat and happy. Styles’ goal was to inspire food for thought as to what it means to treat one another with kindness, and the extent to which one will go to make others feel happier.

“I loved Harry Styles’ outfit and dancing. I was a little confused throughout the video, and I didn’t really understand it,” says NDB senior Mckenzie Rees.“Although I wouldn’t really listen to the song daily I think it has a really good message.”

As Harry Styles is one of the most famous artists at the moment, there is no surprise that his new song and video was wildly popular.
