The Catalyst interviewed Ashleigh Dean, senior, about what would have been Aquacades.
TC: Friday would have been Aquacades, but it was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. What do you have to say about that?
AD: Well, I was really excited about this year because it was my first time being signed up to be in a routine and I’m really sad that I didn’t get the chance to experience that with my best friends.
TC: If we come back to school before the end of the year, do you think Aquacades should be rescheduled or should it be canceled? If it’s rescheduled during the summer, would you be willing to come celebrate it then?
AD: Yes, I do think it should be rescheduled, and yes, I would love it to celebrate during summer.
TC: People usually look at pictures or videos of last year’s Aquacades to learn what it’s about. One year from now, what do you want people to know about Aquacades?
AD: I want people to know that our Aquacades were canceled, and I want them to know all the hard work that was put into it before it was canceled. So, they can remember the Gators.
