What is on your music playlist? by Ally Lawrence

Music is a large part of NDB student’s free time. The most common types listened to are rap, country, and EDM.

Stella Affrunti, a Freshman at NDB, gives more detail on her favorite type of music: country. “I like Luke Bryan and Florida Georgia Line,” Affrunti tells us about her favorite country music artists, as well as the concerts she has seen by them. “I just went to Florida Georgia Line, Luke Bryan over the summer, and Zac Brown Band,” Affrunti explains the types of concerts she has been to and which of the artists she has seen.

Sophomore Caroline Lawrence and Junior Emily Fletcher talk about rap, their favorite type of music. Lawrence claims some of her most favored artists are Nav, Ian Diore, 21 Savage, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, and Travis Scott, whereas Fletcher claims hers are Lil Teejay and Lil Tecca.

Senior Bridget Britton sheds light on a different favorite type of music: EDM. After going to Snow Globe, a three-day music festival during New Years in South Lake Tahoe, Britton states that her top artist picks are Louis the Child, RL Grime, and Loud Luxury.

Most students tend to listen to rap music because it gives them energy and makes them hyped up for the day, and others listen to electronic dance music because they are in the mood to dance and feel a certain rush when they listen to these songs. Country listeners feel happier after listening to this music because they enjoy the tunes.

NDB students tend to lean towards a variety of genres including rap, country, and EDM, going to most of their concerts at Shoreline Amphitheater or Oracle Arena. Affrunti, Lawrence, Fletcher, and Britton share their passions for music and what it means to them, giving details on some of their favorite artists and who they have seen in concert.
