Review: Ralph Breaks the Internet

“Wreck it Ralph”, Disney’s 2012 hit movie, caught the attention of all ages, and continued Disney’s streak of enjoyable, heartwarming movies. After seeing the second movie, I am pleased to say it exceeded my expectations as a fan of the “Wreck it Ralph” series.

The first movie ended with an unlikely friendship of Ralph, the villain in one game and Veronica, the glitch in another. To understand the sequel, there is no need to see the first movie!

The movie begins with the same iconic friendship between Ralph and Veronica, which still proves to be as entertaining and problematic as in the first film. Ralph, in attempts to make Veronica’s game more exciting for her, ends up accidentally destroying the game. In order to save the game, they need to buy a new steering wheel from eBay, and this is how the journey begins.

In addition to the exciting storyline, the attention to detail in the film is amazing. The focus on creating a detailed universe within the internet was done excellently as well, including accurate adaptations of popular websites, such as Fortnite and Amazon.

It is the first disney movie to include every Disney princess, and it represents each of them very well. They are all featured throughout the development of the story, which is where their true personalities are shown, and are all essential to the plot.

As the movie ended, I did not even realize I had been sitting in my theatre seat for two hours, as the film went by so fast, and was a truly exciting experience for me. Freshman President Jorja Fox also agreed and said, “They had everything on point. It was current and they were able to include things like adds on the side of the internet.” I would highly encourage you make the time to see this movie, because of its funny and feel-good tone, and its ability to keep the audience constantly engaged.
